The Haifan Baha'i Faith is the largest Baha'i sect currently in existence. It was founded in 1963 with the formation of the Universal House of Justice after the death of Shoghi Effendi by the Custodians. Shoghi Effendi's death left a power vacuum, allowing for the Custodians to assume control of the Baha'i Faith. The Custodians were:
