حَقِّي عَلَيْكَ كَبِيرٌ لا يُنْسَى، وَفَضْلِي بِكَ عَظيمٌ لا يُغْشى، وَحُبِّي فِيكَ مَوْجُودٌ لا يُغَطَّى، وَنُوري لَكَ مَشْهُودٌ لا يَخْفى. (edit)

20 O SON OF SPIRIT!
My claim on thee is great, it cannot be forgotten. My grace to thee is plenteous, it cannot be veiled. My love has made in thee its home, it cannot be concealed. My light is manifest to thee, it cannot be obscured. (edit) |
(20) O Son of Spirit,
My right upon you is great and should not be forgotten, my favor to you is vast and cannot be overshadowed, my love in you is present and cannot be concealed, and my light for you is evident and cannot be hidden. (edit) |
22 | (٢١) يَا ابْنَ البَشَرِ
قَدَّرْتُ لَكَ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ الأَبْهَى الْفَواكِهَ الأَصْفى، كَيْفَ أَعْرَضْتَ عَنْهُ وَرَضِيتَ بِالَّذِي هُوَ أَدْنَى، فارْجِعْ إِلَى مَا هُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ فِي الأُفُقِ الأَعْلَى. (edit)

Upon the tree of effulgent glory I have hung for thee the choicest fruits, wherefore hast thou turned away and contented thyself with that which is less good? Return then unto that which is better for thee in the realm on high. (edit) |
(21) O Son of Man,
I have destined for you fruits from the most glorious tree, how could you turn away from it and be content with what is lesser? Return to what is better for you in the highest horizon. (edit) |
23 | (٢٢) يَا ابْنَ الرُّوحِ
خَلَقْتُكَ عَالِيًا، جَعَلْتَ نَفْسَكَ دانِيَةً؛ فَاصْعَدْ إِلى ما خُلِقْتَ لَهُ. (edit)

Noble have I created thee, yet thou hast abased thyself. Rise then unto that for which thou wast created. (edit) |
(22) O Son of Spirit,
I have created you lofty, but you have made yourself lowly; ascend to that for which you were created. (edit) |
24 | (٢٣) يَا ابْنَ العَماءِ
أَدْعُوكَ إِلَى الْبَقَاءِ وَأَنْتَ تَبْتَغِي الْفَنَاءَ، بِمَ أَعْرَضْتَ عَمَّا نُحِبُّ وَأَقْبَلْتَ إِلَى مَا تُحِبُّ. (edit)

To the eternal I call thee, yet thou dost seek that which perisheth. What hath made thee turn away from Our desire and seek thine own? (edit) |
(23) O Son of Darkness,
I call you to eternity, but you seek extinction. Why have you turned away from what We desire and inclined toward what you desire? (edit) |
25 | (٢٤) يَا ابْنَ الإِنْسانِ
لَا تَتَعَدَّ عَنْ حَدِّكَ وَلا تَدَّعِ مَا لَا يَنْبَغِي لِنَفْسِكَ، اسْجُدْ لِطَلْعَةِ رَبِّكَ ذِي الْقُدْرَةِ وَالإِقْتِدَارِ. (edit)

Transgress not thy limits, nor claim that which beseemeth thee not. Prostrate thyself before the countenance of thy God, the Lord of might and power. (edit) |
(24) O Son of Man,
Do not exceed your limits nor claim what is not fitting for you. Prostrate before the dawning-place of your Lord, the Possessor of Power and Authority. (edit) |
26 | (٢٥) يَا ابْنَ الرُّوحِ
لَا تَفْتَخِرْ عَلَى الْمِسْكِينِ بِافْتِخَارِ نَفْسِكَ، لِأَنِّي أَمْشِي قُدَّامَهُ وَأَرَاكَ فِي سُوءِ حَالِكَ وَأَلْعَنُ عَلَيْكَ إِلَى الأَبَدِ. (edit)

Vaunt not thyself over the poor, for I lead him on his way and behold thee in thy evil plight and confound thee forevermore. (edit) |
(25) O Son of Spirit,
Do not take pride over the poor with self-glory, for I walk before him, and see you in your adverse condition, and I curse upon you forever. (edit) |
27 | (٢٦) يَا ابْنَ الوُجُودِ
كَيْفَ نَسِيتَ عُيوبَ نَفْسِكَ وَاشْتَغَلْتَ بِعُيُوبِ عِبادِي. مَنْ كانَ عَلى ذلِكَ فَعَلَيْهِ لَعْنَةٌ مِنِّي. (edit)

How couldst thou forget thine own faults and busy thyself with the faults of others? Whoso doeth this is accursed of Me. (edit) |
(26) O Son of Existence,
How have you forgotten your own flaws and preoccupied yourself with the flaws of My servants? Upon anyone who does this, My curse is upon them. (edit) |
28 | (٢٧) يَا ابْنَ الإِنْسانِ
لَا تَنَفَّسْ بِخَطَأِ أَحَدٍ مَا دُمْتَ خاطِئًا، وَإِنْ تَفْعَلْ بِغَيْرِ ذَلِكَ مَلْعُونٌ أَنْتَ، وَأَنَا شاهِدٌ بِذَلِكَ. (edit)

Breathe not the sins of others so long as thou art thyself a sinner. Shouldst thou transgress this command, accursed wouldst thou be, and to this I bear witness. (edit) |
(27) O Son of Man,
Do not breathe in the fault of anyone as long as you yourself are flawed. If you do otherwise, you are cursed, and I bear witness to that. (edit) |
29 | (٢٨) يَا ابْنَ الرُّوحِ
أَيْقِنْ بِأَنَّ الَّذي يَأْمُرُ النَّاسَ بِالْعَدْلِ وَيَرْتَكِبُ الْفَحْشَاءَ فِي نَفْسِهِ، إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنِّي وَلَوْ كَانَ عَلَى اسْمِي. (edit)

Know thou of a truth: He that biddeth men be just and himself committeth iniquity is not of Me, even though he bear My name. (edit) |

Be certain that he who commands people to justice but commits indecency himself is not of me, even if he bears my name. (edit) |
30 | (٢٩) يَا ابْنَ الوُجُودِ
لَا تَنْسِبْ إِلَى نَفْسٍ مَا لَا تُحِبُّهُ لِنَفْسِكَ، وَلَا تَقُلْ مَا لَا تَفْعَل. هَذَا أَمْرِي عَلَيْكَ فَاعْمَلْ بِهِ. (edit)

Ascribe not to any soul that which thou wouldst not have ascribed to thee, and say not that which thou doest not. This is My command unto thee, do thou observe it. (edit) |

Do not attribute to another what you do not like for yourself, and do not say what you do not do. This is my command to you, so act upon it. (edit) |
31 | (٣٠) يَا ابْنَ الإِنْسانِ
لَا تَحْرِمْ وَجْهَ عَبْدِي إِذَا سَأَلَكَ فِي شَيْءٍ؛ لأَنَّ وَجْهَهُ وَجْهِي فَاخْجَلْ مِنِّي. (edit)

Deny not My servant should he ask anything from thee, for his face is My face; be then abashed before Me. (edit) |

Do not deny the face of my servant when he asks you for something; for his face is my face, so be ashamed before me. (edit) |
32 | (٣١) يَا ابْنَ الوُجُودِ
حاسِبْ نَفْسَكَ فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ تُحَاسَبَ، لأَنَّ الْمَوْتَ يَأْتِيكَ بَغْتَةً وَتَقُومُ عَلَى الْحِسابِ فِي نَفْسِكَ. (edit)

Bring thyself to account each day ere thou art summoned to a reckoning; for death, unheralded, shall come upon thee and thou shalt be called to give account for thy deeds. (edit) |

Account for yourself every day before you are held accountable, for death will come to you suddenly and you will stand to account for yourself. (edit) |
33 | (٣٢) يَا ابْنَ العَماءِ
جَعَلْتُ لَكَ الْمَوْتَ بِشَارَةً، كَيْفَ تَحْزَنُ مِنْهُ. وَجَعَلْتُ النُّورَ لَكَ ضِياءً، كَيْفَ تَحْتَجِبُ عَنْهُ. (edit)

I have made death a messenger of joy to thee. Wherefore dost thou grieve? I made the light to shed on thee its splendor. Why dost thou veil thyself therefrom? (edit) |
(32) O Son of Ignorance,
I have made death a glad tidings for you, how can you be saddened by it. And I have made light a radiance for you, how can you veil yourself from it. (edit) |
34 | (٣٣) يَا ابْنَ الرُّوحِ
بِبِشارَةِ النُّورِ أُبَشِّرُكَ فَاسْتَبْشِرْ بِهِ، وَإِلى مَقَرِّ القُدْسِ أَدْعُوكَ تَحَصَّنْ فِيهِ، لِتَسْتَريحَ إِلَى أَبَدِ الأَبَدِ. (edit)

With the joyful tidings of light I hail thee: rejoice! To the court of holiness I summon thee; abide therein that thou mayest live in peace forevermore. (edit) |
(33) O Son of the Spirit,
With the glad tidings of light I give you good news, so rejoice in it. And I call you to the abode of holiness, take refuge in it, that you may rest for eternity. (edit) |
35 | (٣٤) يَا ابْنَ الرُّوحِ
رُوحُ القُدْسِ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِالأُنْسِ، كَيْفَ تَحْزَنُ. وَرُوحُ الأَمْرِ يُؤَيِّدُكَ عَلَى الأَمْرِ، كَيْفَ تَحْتَجِبُ. وَنُورُ الوَجْهِ يَمْشِي قُدَّامَكَ، كَيْفَ تَضِلُّ. (edit)

The spirit of holiness beareth unto thee the joyful tidings of reunion; wherefore dost thou grieve? The spirit of power confirmeth thee in His cause; why dost thou veil thyself? The light of His countenance doth lead thee; how canst thou go astray? (edit) |

The Holy Spirit gives you glad tidings of joy, how can you be sad? And the Spirit of Command strengthens you in your tasks, how can you hide? And the light of the countenance walks before you, how can you go astray? (edit) |
36 | (٣٥) يَا ابْنَ الإِنْسانِ
لَا تَحْزَنْ إِلاّ فِي بُعْدِكَ عَنَّا، وَلا تَفْرَحْ إِلاّ فِي قُرْبِكَ بِنا وَالرُّجُوعِ إِلَيْنا. (edit)

Sorrow not save that thou art far from Us. Rejoice not save that thou art drawing near and returning unto Us. (edit) |
(35) O Son of Man,
Do not grieve except in your distance from Us, and do not rejoice except in your nearness to Us and your return to Us. (edit) |
37 | (٣٦) يَا ابْنَ الإِنْسانِ
افْرَحْ بِسُرُورِ قَلْبِكَ، لِتَكُونَ قابِلاً لِلِقائِي وَمِرآةً لِجَمالِي. (edit)

Rejoice in the gladness of thine heart, that thou mayest be worthy to meet Me and to mirror forth My beauty. (edit) |
(36) O Son of Man,
Rejoice in the joy of your heart, so that you may be prepared for My meeting and a mirror to My beauty. (edit) |
38 | (٣٧) يَا ابْنَ الإِنْسانِ
لَا تُعَرِّ نَفْسَكَ عَنْ جَميلِ رِدائِي وَلَا تَحْرِمْ نَصِيبَكَ مِنْ بَدِيعِ حِياضِي؛ لِئَلَّا يَأْخُذَكَ الظَّمَأُ فِي سَرْمَدِيَّةِ ذاتِي. (edit)

Divest not thyself of My beauteous robe, and forfeit not thy portion from My wondrous fountain, lest thou shouldst thirst forevermore. (edit) |
(37) O Son of Man,
Do not deprive yourself of the beauty of My garment, nor deny your share from the novelty of My garden; lest thirst overtake you in the eternity of My essence. (edit) |
39 | (٣٨) يَا ابْنَ الوُجُودِ
اعْمَلْ حُدُودِي حُبًّا لِي، ثُمَّ انْهِ نَفْسَكَ عَمّا تَهْوى طَلَبًا لِرِضائِي. (edit)

Walk in My statutes for love of Me and deny thyself that which thou desirest if thou seekest My pleasure. (edit) |
(38) O Son of Being,
Observe My boundaries out of love for Me, then restrain yourself from what you desire in pursuit of My pleasure. (edit) |
40 | (٣٩) يَا ابْنَ الإِنْسانِ
لا تَتْرُكْ أَوامِرِي حُبًّا لِجَمَالِي، وَلا تَنْسَ وَصَايَايَ ابْتِغاءً لِرِضائِي. (edit)

Neglect not My commandments if thou lovest My beauty, and forget not My counsels if thou wouldst attain My good pleasure. (edit) |

Do not abandon My commands out of love for My beauty, and do not forget My precepts in pursuit of My pleasure. (edit) |
