Nimrod, according to Islamic tradition, disputed with Abraham and claimed to have the power of life and death (cf. Qur'an 2:260 and Enc. of Islam, iii, 842 ff.). Baha'u'llah says that there is a man who, when he hears the sound of the footsteps of his disciples following him, is so puffed up with pride that he is prouder than Nimrod.
