I ask Thee, O King of Kings and Compassionate of the owned, by Thy Greatest Name, which Thou hast made the dawn of Thy Beautiful Names and the appearance of Thy High Attributes, to raise the hindrances that have come between Thee and Thy creatures, and prevented them from turning to the horizon of Thy revelation. Then draw them, O my God, by Thy Supreme Word from the left of delusion and forgetfulness to the right of certainty and knowledge, that they may know what Thou hast intended for them by Thy generosity and grace, and that they may turn to the appearance of Thy command and the dawn of Thy signs. O my God, Thou art the Generous, the Possessor of great bounty, do not prevent Thy servants from the Greatest Sea, which Thou hast made a bearer for the loftiness of Thy knowledge and wisdom, and do not repel them from Thy door, which Thou hast opened for those in Thy heavens and Thy earth. O Lord, do not leave them to themselves, for they do not know, and they flee from what is better for them than what was created in Thy earth. So look at them, O my God, with the glances of Thy kindness and Thy gifts, and purify them from the self and passion, that they may draw near to Thy highest horizon, and find the sweetness of Thy remembrance, and the pleasure of the table which Thou hast sent down from the sky of Thy will, and the breeze of Thy bounty has always surrounded Thy possibilities, and Thy mercy preceded Thy beings. There is no god but Thee, the Forgiving, the Merciful. Glorified be Thou, O my God, Thou knowest that my heart has melted in Thy command, and my blood boils in every vein from the fire of Thy love, and every drop of it calls Thee with the tongue of the state, O my exalted Lord, so spill me on the earth in Thy way to produce from it what Thou hast desired in Thy tablets, and Thou hast concealed it from the eyes of Thy servants except those who have drunk the Kawthar of knowledge from the hands of Thy bounty, and the Salsabeel of recognition from the cup of Thy gift, and Thou knowest, O my God, that I did not desire in a command but Thy command, and I did not intend in a mention but Thy mention, and my pen did not move, but I intended it with Thy contentment, and to show what Thou hast commanded me with Thy authority. Thou seest me, O my God, bewildered in Thy land. If I mention what Thou hast commanded me with, Thy creatures object to me, and if I leave what Thou hast commanded me from Thee, I am deserving of the lashes of Thy wrath, and far from the gardens of Thy proximity. By Thy dignity, I have turned to Thy contentment and turned away from what the selves of Thy servants desire, and I have accepted what is with Thee and left what distances me from the places of Thy proximity, and the steps of Thy might. By Thy dignity, I am not dismayed by anything for the sake of Thy love, and in Thy contentment, I am not frightened by all the calamities of the earth. This is only by Thy power and strength, and Thy bounty, and Thy attention without my deserving it. So, O my God, this is a book I want to send to the Sultan, and Thou knowest that I did not want anything from him but the appearance of his justice to Thy creatures, and the emergence of his kindness to the people of Thy kingdom, and that for myself I did not want anything but what Thou wanted, and I do not want by Thy power but what Thou wantest. The nonexistence wants from Thee without Thee, by Thy dignity, Thy contentment is the end of my hope, and Thy will is the end of my hope. Have mercy, O my God, on this poor one who clung to the tail of Thy riches, and this abased one who calls Thee, that Thou art the Mighty, the Great. Support, O my God, the presence of the Sultan in carrying out Thy boundaries between Thy servants, and the appearance of Thy justice between Thy creatures, that he may judge this group as he judges what is below them. Verily, Thou art the Capable, the Mighty, the Wise.

Then attract them, O my God, with Your Sublime Word, from the left of illusion and forgetfulness to the right of certainty and knowledge so that they may know what You have intended for them with Your generosity and favor, and turn to the manifestation of Your command and the source of Your signs.
 
O my God, You are the Generous, Possessor of Great Grace, do not deprive Your servants of the Great Sea that You have made a bearer for the loftiness of Your knowledge and wisdom, and do not banish them from Your door that You have opened for those in Your heaven and Your earth. O Lord, do not leave them to themselves, for they know not and flee from what is better for them than what was created in Your earth. So look at them, O my God, with the glances of Your kindness and gifts, and purify them from self and desire, so that they may approach Your highest horizon and find the sweetness of Your remembrance and the pleasure of the feast that descended from the heaven of Your will, and the breeze of Your grace that has ever encompassed the contingents and preceded Your beings. There is no god but You, the Forgiving, the Merciful.

And You know, O my God, that I have not intended in any matter but Your command, and not aimed in any mention but Your mention, and my pen did not move except that I intended with it Your satisfaction and the manifestation of what You commanded me with by Your authority.
 
You see me, O my God, perplexed in Your land; if I mention what You commanded me with, Your creation objects to me; and if I leave what You have commanded from You, I become deserving of the lashes of Your wrath and far from the gardens of Your proximity. My being has perished, wanting from You other than You; by Your might, Your satisfaction is the end of my hope, and Your will is the goal of my wish. So have mercy, O my God, on this poor one who clung to the tail of Your richness, and this lowly one who calls You that You are the Mighty, the Great. Support, O my God, the presence of the Sultan in enforcing Your limits among Your servants and displaying Your justice among Your creation, so that he may rule over this group as he rules over those below them. Indeed, You are the Able, the Mighty, the Wise.
